2015-2016 GRANT RECIPIENTS

Listed below are the funding recipients for the 2015-2016 Rotary Year (1 July - 30 June):

Literacy CNY

$1,500 to help fund a vital server upgrade in support of its mission to provide adults with the necessary literacy tools and skills.

Literacy Coalition of Onondaga County

$2,500 to enhance its Syracuse Imagination Library project, especially with respect to involving parents in their children’s early reading initiatives.

McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center

$2,000 to support its High Five! Child abuse prevention program.

On Point for College

$1000 to aid its spring 2016 campus tour program.

Onondaga Historical Association

$1,000 to support its annual Central New York Region History Day for the benefit of area students.

Red House Arts Center

$1,000 to provide at risk youth with opportunities to engage in local professional theater.

Success By 6

$1,500 to support the United Way’s participation in the Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Bureau book distribution program.

Vera House

$1,000 in support of its emergency assistance program for victims of domestic and sexual violence.

YMCA of Greater Syracuse

$1,500 in support of its long time summer camping program for young boys and girls at Camp Iroquois.

InterFaith Works of CNY - $7500

Presidential Signature Grant to help facilitate a ground breaking Syracuse police-community dialogue project.

Bhutanese Community in Syracuse

$2,500 to help underwrite basic skill development, healthy living and culinary training for local Bhutanese refugee women.

Chadwick Residence

$1,500 to help make its house a home for homeless women and children.

Charity for Children

$1,500 to help underwrite its innovative client medical transportation program for needy children.

Easter Seals

$2,000 to help support its effort to assure a skilled and competitive workforce of veterans.

Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways

$2,500 to support its anti-bullying Be a Friend First program.

Father Champlin’s Guardian Angel Society

$2,500 to support its initiatives to provide tuition assistance, mentoring and tutoring services for a diverse population of low income students from kindergarten through high school.

Hospice of Central New York

$1,500 to support Camp Healing Hearts for hurting children.

Jowonio School

$1,500 to help expand its universal design options to assure that all children have access to be full participants in the classroom.

Learning Disabilities Association of CNY

$1,500 to support its comprehensive Learning Without Borders program for youth with learning disabilities.
